Amarcord

Sometimes, the beauty of a moment captured through a camera lens remains etched in our memory more vividly than any memory. Today, I wish to share with you one of those magical moments, an image that captured the soul of the sea as it crashed against the rocks of the shoreline near Bari on May 2, 2012, exactly 12 years ago.

In my photo archive, this image holds a special place. The sound of the crashing waves, the salty scent that permeated the air and the feeling of the wind caressing my face are still so vivid in my mind, as if it were yesterday.

Looking at this photo, I rediscover that moment of total connection with nature. The waves, like dancers in an endless ballet, were hurling themselves against the rocks, spraying white foam into the air. The strength and delicacy of the sea mingled in timeless harmony as the sun painted golden hues on the stones.

Every detail of this scene evokes a sense of wonder and respect for the power of nature. The rocks, marked by the passage of years, seem to resist impassively the incessant beating of the waves, while the sea, with its irrepressible energy, continues to shape them with its infinite embrace.

Reflecting on this photo, I realize how lucky I am to have been able to witness such an extraordinary spectacle of nature and to have been able to capture it with my camera. Every time I look at it, I find the same feeling of wonder and gratitude that I felt at that moment.

This image has become for me a reminder of the beauty and power of the natural world around us. It is an invitation to slow down, to appreciate the small moments, and to look for beauty even in the most ordinary situations.

May this photo inspire you to look for the beauty around you, to immerse yourself in the experience of the present, and to find joy in the simplicity of life.

“We, like waves and like all objects, are a flux of events; we are processes, for a brief time monotonous...”

“Amarcord” is the title of a 1973 comedy-drama Italian film. The film's title is a univerbation (words combined to form a single word) of the Romagnol phrase “a m'arcôrd” (“I remember”). The title then became a neologism of the Italian language, with the meaning of “nostalgic revocation” (source: Wikipedia
